Established in 1884 and located halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast Beenleigh Artisan Distillery is the oldest registered continuously working distillery in Australia. Over 130 years later we re still making rum the traditional “boutique” way operating from our original stone building.?We are still exclusively sourcing Australia’s finest molasses from the country’s only remaining family-owned sugar mill and still pot stilling using some of our original copper equipment. We then age every drop of our golden liquid gracefully in handmade oak brandy vats and bourbon barrels.
Join us for a tour to learn about our history and the colourful people that have made the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery an iconic Queensland attraction. Understand how our master distillers craft quality award winning rums and sit back and enjoy the flavour textures and aromas as part of the tasting experience where you will sample various products from the premium Beenleigh range.
Your experience starts in our award-winning state of the art Visitor Centre where you can relax in the venue and read our history wall while waiting for your tour.
You will start your tour?learning about some of the characters from Beenleigh’s history. Once inside our iconic red heritage listed distillery building you will learn the process of making rum before visiting our vat and barrel stores. If you have opted for our tasting experience you will then sample various products from the premium Beenleigh range which includes a vodka and various varieties of rum. For the drivers amongst you this only equates to around 1.3 standard drinks.
Following your tour you can continue to try more products from our range or relax in our fully stocked bar. Bottles and merchandise are available for purchase.
Guests under 18 are welcome to join us on a tour free of charge but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our tasting experience is only available to guests 18 years old and over.
For safety reasons guests must wear closed-in shoes (no sandals flip flops or thongs).
