Stop At: Stanley Stanley Tasmania
Start with a scenic drive to Table Cape for a couple of photo stops along the coast and nearby farmland followed by a visit to Dip Falls (with hexagonal basalt columns) and the Big Tree (16m girth) on the edge of the Tarkine Rainforest. A stop is made at the honey farm for tasting of Tasmania’s unique Leatherwood honey and Manuka honey with it’s medicinal qualities. Onto historical Stanley via a couple of viewpoint photo stops of the Nut and Highfield House and then lunch either picnic style in town or up the top of the Nut usually with grazing wallabies nearby. Highly recommend Tassie’s iconic scallop pie or fish and chips. Time for a wander through this quaint fishing village with perhaps a look in at Lyons Cottage and then back to Burnie via a stop at the beautiful Boat Harbour.

Enjoy spectacular views from this lookout over Bass Strait back towards Burnie and the ever changing fields around the lighthouse. A second stop on the cape gives wonderful views of the coast looking up to Boat Harbour and The Nut in Stanley

This stunning beach with it’s fine powdery white sand turquoise waters and orange lychen on the rocks is picture perfect.

This waterfall with it’s unusual basalt columns with hexagonal tops and tannin waters is set amongst the surrounding Tarkine temperate rainforest. Also make a stop at the Big Tree a 400 yr old Brown Stringybark that measures 16m around and over 60m tall

Take the chairlift up to the Nut for amazing views out over Stanley and the coast. Lunch here at a picnic table usually with grazing wallabies nearby and the occasional echidna
