Day 1: Great Ocean Road and Great Otway National Park

See Australia’s most surfing beach and home of the world’s oldest surfing event the Rip Curl Pro. Here we will be greeted by a local surfer who will explain the regions surfing history different breaks and discuss there experiences of surfing at this incredible spot.

Walk and admire the spectacular forest of Californian Redwoods. This 85 year old plantation is located within the heart of the Otways on the banks of the Aire River surrounded by the native eucalypts.

Stop At: Hopetoun Falls Beech Forest Road Beech Forest Victoria Australia
Soak up the spray as the Hopetoun Falls plummet 30 metres into the Aire River in the Great Otway National Park. Here we descend some 200 stairs leading through glades of tree ferns to the base of the falls.

Here we wander through ancient rainforest to reach the three distinct impressive cascades of the Triplet Falls in the Great Otway National Park. Triplet Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Great Otway Park and offers a stunning one hour loop walk through ancient rainforest.

Day 2: Enjoy a day walking the spectacular Great Ocean Road Walk
Stop At: Great Ocean Walk 100 Great Ocean Rd Apollo Bay Victoria 3233 Australia
Depart Apollo Bay at 7:00 am to Marengo Caravan Park where we begin our journey along the Great Ocean Road Walk. The first stage is to Shelley Beach which is a 4.7km walk (2 hours). We will follow low cliff tops overlooking the ocean and climb the exposed and aptly named Bald Hill. This walk takes you onto the beach and through sheltered forest where you may spot the occasional Koala to picturesque Shelly Beach.
From Shelley Beach we will take a short drive (30 minutes) to Blanket Bay arriving at approximately 9:30am where we will walk 4km (2 hours) to Parker Hill. This is a diverse walk weaving its way through pristine coastal forests and grass trees travelling in and out of gullies before descending to beautiful Parker Inlet. Two lookouts along the way provide wonderful views into the estuary and over the ocean. Parker Inlet is a great location to explore for its amazing geology and wildlife.
Once we arrive at Parker Hill we jump pack into our private luxury vehicle for a short 10-minute drive to Cape Otway Lightstation car park.
Once arriving at Cape Otway we enjoy an easy 2.8km return walk to the Lookout and Cemetry. From the Lightstation car park head west on the graveled track for about 10 minutes before climbing Paynters Hill to a lookout over the lightstation grounds.
It is now time for lunch at Cape Otway Lightstation where we rest our legs and refuel before we continue our journey in the afternoon along the Great Ocean Road Walk.
After lunch we go searching for Koalas in the wild and away from the crowds along Cape Otway Road. From here we take a 45 minute drive to Moonlight Head.
The final main walk of day 2 is a beautiful 3.5km walk (2-hours) from Moonlight Head to The Gables Lookout. After arriving at the Moonlight Head car park we head up Parkers Access for about 200m before turning left and descending into the forest. The track negotiates its way through a series of forested valleys and ridges past patches of grass trees and She-oaks. The track eventually crosses an old fishing track at its lowest point before heading up towards the spectacular high sea cliffs surrounding The Gable. Along the way the Eucalypt woodland predominant at the start of the section gradually changes to low scrub heath and She-oak forests.
Our final walk for the day is to The Gables Lookout (1.6km return). This great short walk travels through coastal heath woodland and thick Casuarina forest before arriving at a lookout with spectacular views of some of Australia??s highest sea cliffs.
It’s now time after walking 16km over 7 hours to head into Port Campbell in one of our vehicles to rest up our feet for the evening at our luxurious Accommodation for the night.

Day 3: Explore The 12 Apostles and Port Campbell National Park with a Local
Stop At: The Twelve Apostles Lookout Princetown VIC 3269 Australia
Witness the rugged splendour of the famous 12 Apostles at sunrise magnificent rock stacks that rise up majestically from the Southern Ocean. Enjoy the walk along the 12 Apostles platform as the sunrises with magical photo opportunities along the way. From here we make our way along the Great Ocean Road Walk to Gibsons Steps.

Here we make our way down to the beach via the 86 steps that were carved into the face of the cliff by local settler Hugh Gibson. Once on the beach you will be dwarfed by the 70-metre high vertical cliffs while getting up close to two giant limestone stacks rising up out of the sea known as Gog and Magog.

Hear the story of Loch Ard Shipwreck and learn about the rich maritime history of the area while wandering the trails at Loch Ard Gorge. We will also take a walk onto the beach which is famous for its smooth clear blue water.

Our final stop in the Port Campbell National Park is London Bridge which was a stack formed by a gradual process of erosion and until 1990 formed a complete double-span natural bridge before it famously collapsed.

Before heading back to Melbourne we will head back into Port Campbell to enjoy lunch at one of our favourite local cafes.
